How to Change Your Sounds

The complete and idiot proof way to change your sounds.
If you manage to mess this up, you should just drop.

Observe the wild Gangluff as he yells at you for screwing up something so simple. All you had to do was drag and drop. Just drag and drop. ALL the hardstuff was done for you! Code was automatically generated for you and presented to you with a nice download link! You just needed to drag it in with soundfiles!

Step 1: Acquire Soundfiles

Find the soundfiles you would like to use in your soundboard. These can be downloaded from the internet or stripped from Youtube Videos (see sidebar for links). When your sound files have been aquired, move them into the "Sound Files" folder in the "Board with Template" folder.
Note: As of now, soundfiles MUST be in .mp3 format!

Step 2: Generate new audioArray.JS file

Navigate to the "Change Sounds" page and select how many sounds you would like on the soundboard. You can choose any number between 1 and 40 (inclusive). The number already in the field is the number of sounds already on the board. Once finished, hit "Enter".

Once you have submitted how many sounds you would like, a number of fields will appear in groups of two - each group represents one sound on the soundboard. If you already have sounds loaded into the board, they will appear in their respective spots (i.e. if Sound 1 is filled with "Crying Students", the Name and URL of "Crying Students" will already be filled in for the Sound 1 fields). If you select more sounds than currently on the board then the fields for the new sounds will be filled with "Name" and "Url". If you select less sounds than currently on the board then you will "delete" sounds to meet the new desired number. Type in the name and URL of the soundfiles you would like on the board. "Name" corresponds to the sound's label while "URL" is the file name (including the .mp3 extension). Remember: the computer will read your inputs AS THEY APPEAR. This means capitalization and spacing for the URL field MUST match with the names of the files in the Sound folder EXACTLY!

Click "Save" to save your changes or "Back" to edit the selected number of sounds. When "Save" is clicked, a link will appear to download the new .JS file. This file contains the settings of the soundboard.Click the link and downlaod the file.

Step 3: Replace the JS File

Locate the newly downloaded audioArray.JS file. Drag and drop it into the "Board with Template" folder. Since there should already be another JS file of the same name, the computer will prompt you asking what to do in response to the conflit. Replace the old file with the new file. If this conflict does not pop up, you may have done something wrong. Make sure that you are dropping it into the right folder ("Board with Template") and that you have the correct file name (audioArray.JS). Be sure to check for multiple downloads of the same file to the dowloads folder as it may change the file name to "audioArray (#).JS".

Upon properly completing this step, your Soundboard should be fully operational!
